Scout

Scouting is a scouting movement in Indonesia which has an important role in educating the younger generation to become strong, responsible individuals and contribute to society. In this article, we will discuss the history, goals and activities of Indonesian scouts.

History

The history of the Indonesian Scouts began in 1961 when it was decided to merge the previously existing youth scouting organizations into the Indonesian Scout Movement. Indonesian Scouts then became part of the internationally recognized World Scout Movement. Since then, the Indonesian Scouts have grown and developed into one of the largest youth organizations in Indonesia.

Scouts have the main goal of educating the younger generation to become good and responsible citizens. This goal is achieved through educational programs designed to develop the character, skills and knowledge of Scout members. The Scout program includes physical, intellectual, emotional and social aspects.

Objective

Scouting involves a variety of activities that hone skills and teach scouting values. Some frequent activities include camps, hiking, retreats, student exchanges, and community service projects. Apart from that, Scouts also encourage their members to study nature, learn to survive in difficult natural environments, and practice outbound activities.

Apart from developing skills and character, Scouting also provides opportunities for its members to build social relationships, expand networks, and develop a spirit of cooperation within the group. Scout members are also taught to recognize and contribute to society through various social activities and environmental awareness.

The Indonesian Scouts have an award system, such as the General Proficiency Mark (TKU), Special Proficiency Mark (TKK), and Honorary Mark (TKH), which are given to members who have achieved good results in their scouting education.

With its vision and mission as the largest scouting organization in Indonesia, Scouts continues to be committed to educating and involving the younger generation in building a better future for the nation and state.

Scouting is a means of preparing future leaders who are tough, hardworking, and responsive to community needs. In Scouting, young people learn to value unity, contribute to society, and become responsible citizens.
